Hi Amy, please tell us about yourself
I am a model in New York with Q Models. When I am not running around the city to castings or shoots, I am working on producing media for partner brands and other content collaborations through my IG: @lefevrediary. Since 2018, I have also been working on one of my main targets to launch accessory and jewelry lines. Last year, we launched LEFÉV, an accessible sunglasses line and during NYFW next month, we will be launching LEFÉV New York, a jewelry line that aims to make luxury jewelry an everyday obtainable standard. What inspired you to pursue a career in Modelling? is it something you have always wanted to do?
My dad was an artist and both of parents were always really big on fashion, so the creativity and expression of the industry were always very appealing to me. Through modeling, I was able to meet so many great creatives and be inspired by design.
What is it like being a Model and a Digital Creator? How do you balance both?
It is a hectic schedule but I really do love creating content for brands both independently and through modeling. My experience in modeling helped in understanding content framing, aesthetics, and messaging for client briefs and collaborations. I would, of course, not be able to juggle all of these without my incredible team that helps me stay organized!
Did you have any obstacles to overcome on your way to the success you have now?
There are definitely prejudices that I have come across in the industry as the diversity we see day in and out has not always been as well represented. This did lead to confidence issues for me at the outset. It was only the empowering message of self-appreciation from friends and family that led increased confidence and self-love.
What are your best accomplishments so far as a model?
I have done some really cool shoots for Apple and a number of some of my favorite brands like L'Oréal and Estée Lauder. I have also done some fun collabs on my social channels with Burberry, Mejuri, and Aritzia.
What advice would you give a young person who would love to follow in your footsteps?
Have confidence in yourself and represent who you are and where you come from at all times!
How can women empower other women?
Always build each other up and appreciate different individual journeys and ambitions. Surround yourself with great friends who stay positive about who they are and who want you to succeed!
