Rising Blogger & Stylist..Temi Otedola

Rising fashion blogger - Temi Otedola,  'history of art’ student at University College London while running her blog - Jtofashion.com takes time out from her busy schedule to speak to us…….

Can you tell us a little about yourself
My name is Temi Otedola. I am 19 years old and currently a full time university student and run a personal style blog, JTOFashion.com

What inspired you to start your blog
As a Nigerian blogger living in London I've always found fashion inspiration from both environments but couldn't quite find a fashion blog that showcased both influences. I've known for a long time that I wanted a career in fashion and really wanted a  platform to express my personal style and experiences.

What is a typical day in the life of JTO Fashion?
I'll usually get up early to write some posts for my blog or go to the gym to get my energy up for the day ahead. I'll then go into University for the entire afternoon, stopping for lunch or coffee with friends. My evenings are dedicated to blogging whether it be writing posts, styling for an upcoming shoot, or attending meetings. I'll then finish off some uni work and finally unwind with a movie or some light reading.

Many bloggers today solely blog for a living. What drives you to maintain a life as a stylist and also studying full-time? (i know you mentioned you study  full-time? what are you studying?)
I'm currently studying History of Art at the University College London. It's really important for me to continue studying because although things are really taking off with my blog I would really love to also work in the art industry in the future and I think it's important to be as educated in the field as possible. After my first degree I'll be going straight for a Masters in Contemporary African Art.

What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you?
I love vintage shopping. It's honestly one of my favourite past times. I could spend hours rifling through racks of clothes and then finally find a to-die-for Chanel jacket from the 70s. It's always worth the wait!

What has been your biggest ‘pinch me’ moment since launching JTO Fashion?
I would say hands-down being featured in British Vogue. It's been a dream of mine since I was little so to be in a full spread only one year into the JTO Fashion journey is mind blowing! I'm still pinching myself.

What’s your favourite accessory you can’t live without?
My Isabel Marant wristwatch. It's understated but still incredibly chic.

How do you spend your time outside blogging?
I love visiting art galleries and I try to see at least one exhibition per week. In general, I spend any spare time I have working or with friends and family.

What are your must have essentials in your bag?
My Smythson diary, a good book, iPhone charger, and Eve Lom lip balm.

What Florian London bag most fits your style?
I would say that the Hand Painted Vienna is just so me! I think fashion should be fun and I love adding tongue-in-cheek touches to my outfits. Life is too short to look boring!

Like it and hare it.
